Description¶
Any Project Active Contributor meeting the eligibility criteria can be nominated as candidate to fill the open position. He/she might be asked to sustain one or more interviews with or make a presentations to any of the Project governance entities. The course of action will be decided by the current Project Leaders together with the Steering Committee on per-nomination and per-position case. The eligibility criteria are described in the governance document of the related entity.
Process¶
Candidates for open positions as Project Leader or Technical Leader of core or supported projects should follow this process:
- the open position should be advertised through the Official Project Channels.
- a set date should be indicated when nomination will be accepted.
- the nomination period will be one month starting from the set date.
- candidate nomination should be submitted by one or, preferrably, both the following methods:
- direct email to one or more Project Leaders or Steering Committee members
- a posting on the Official Project Channels.
- each candidate should have the support from at least three other project members. One of them should be from a different institution.
- the nomination can be initiate directly by the candidate or by one of the supporting members.
- the nomination becomes official when listed in the relevant section of the project website
Important¶
No matter, how many nominations/candidates are present for a single position, a vote will be called and the candidate with the most votes will be offered the position.
